Leonard Curtis Legal has recently acted on behalf of the joint Administrators, Richard Pinder and Sean Williams, of Leonard Curtis Business Solutions Group, in relation to the sale of the business and assets of Ilkeston-based Whytemount Civils Limited.
Whytemount Civils was a construction and civil engineering company which had recently faced financial difficulties due to a number of factors relating to COVID-19. Following a marketing campaign, the business was sold to a connected party which saved eight jobs.
The Leonard Curtis Legal team was led by Rachael Jenner, a senior associate in the firm’s corporate and commercial team, and insolvency and restructuring specialist.
Rachael commented: “We were delighted to assist the Administrators with this sale. As ever with this type of transaction, speed of turnaround was key. We were able to work in a short space of time, ensuring that the deal could be done as soon as possible, minimising creditor pressure and maximising business continuity whilst protecting the interests of the creditors.”
Sean Williams, LC Director added: “Rachael and the team acted with the speed and commerciality required for such a transaction. This was key in preserving value in the business and saving employee livelihoods. The team at LC Legal, make Leonard Curtis Business Solutions Group a unique turnaround partner, being able to deal with every facet of a restructure in-house.”
