Leonard Curtis Business Solutions Group (LCBSG) has further strengthened its UK operation with the two senior appointments in the South of England.

Robin Goddard and Shaun Hyland recently joined Reach Commercial Finance – LCBSG’s bespoke brokerage – to meet the region’s ongoing demand for commercial finance expertise. They will now help to build on the division’s impressive 500+ transactions and £360 million raised since August 2014.

Working as a Senior Business Development Manager – based across the Group’s Bristol and Southampton offices – Robin brings with him 35 years’ financial advisory experience. In his new role, he is responsible for analysing client requirements and being the connection between borrowers and lenders to ensure that the best links are made between the two.

Associate Director Shaun Hyland is the latest recruit to join LCBSG’s London office, working across the City and Thames Valley. The 10 years’ experience he brings with him to the Group includes SME and mid-market deals together with commercial and corporate lending. Shaun’s remit is to further strengthen the LCBSG service offering amongst the region’s accountancy network, as well as building new and existing relationships with lenders.

Both Shaun and Robin will help meet the increasing demands placed on the Group to deliver positive strategic business advice – at the most relevant, regional level – in the South of England. In addition to its impressive statistics in terms of number of transactions and finance raised, LCBSG’s restructuring division saved over 14,100 jobs during 2016 and 2017.

Figures show that at the start of 2017, there were 5 million private sector businesses in England – 1.1 million of these were in London and a further 929,000 in the South East. No surprise therefore that the number of businesses per person is higher in southern England than elsewhere is the UK – which means that LCBSG is now even better positioned to provide the expert support needed from time to time.

Having agreed over 150 Time to Pay proposals for clients in the last three years – repaying over £26 million to HMRC and safeguarding over 6,500 jobs – the addition of Shaun and Robin to the Group’s regional team is sure to be welcomed by its ambitious SME owners and those who advise them.

Shaun Hyland, LCBSG Associate Director, said: “I speak for myself and Robin when I say that we’re delighted to join the LCBSG team as we further strengthen and grow the Reach Commercial Finance offering across the South of England. Demand for its services is high and, as part of a much wider portfolio of commercial and financial expertise, we are ready to help protect and grow the region’s SMEs by providing the exact – and very often, specialist – support required.

“The South of England enjoys an enviable economic position and we’re looking forward to making it even stronger.”

Daniel Booth, Director at LCBSG, said: “We are delighted to welcome Shaun and Robin to our our team as part of an ambitious strategic expansion programme. To make two appointments of this calibre is testament to our reputation and client demands.

“We’re fast becoming the go-to specialists for an ever-increasing number of SME owners and their advisers in need of very specific advice and support at every stage of their business’ lifecycle. It’s great to have Robin and Shaun on board to do that.”
